EMC4Ports
Environmental Monitoring in Ports with Sensors

The main objectives are:
- Detect critical situations and provide environmental alerts.
- Support emergency management and mitigation of environmental damage.
- Improve operational efficiency, safety, and port sustainability.
During the project, a dedicated electric boat will patrol the port areas, transforming standard sensors into smart, interconnected sensors based on the Internet of Things (IoT) concept. Integration with predictive models and artificial intelligence algorithms will allow distributed, real-time access to environmental information.
PM_TEN will develop and implement the Lagrangian pollutant dispersion model, integrating it with data from smart sensors on-site and aboard the boat. This will enable the creation of a complete and effective decision support system for managing environmental risks in ports.
Extension: “EMC4TPorts” – The project extension has been funded within the framework of the RAISE_beyond initiative, aimed at promoting the feasibility study or possible application of the developed technology in real contexts different from the one in which the original project was created. Thus, the EMC4TPorts project was born: a 3‑month pilot project for the implementation of the integrated ecosystem within coastal areas with a high tourist impact. Project leader: Dragflow Sud. Pilot site provided by Ente Parchi Regione Calabria.
