Environmental education in schools is one of the most effective ways to foster environmental awareness and responsible habits from an early age. With the second edition of AirQuality@School, PM_TEN brought the topic of air quality to primary school children, renewing its commitment to promoting environmental culture and raising awareness about air pollution.
Following the first edition, which involved students from the Deledda International School in Genoa, this year we chose to engage a much younger audience.
The importance of environmental education in changing our (bad) habits
AirQuality@School was an opportunity to have fun together with primary school children while sharing interesting facts, experiments, and reflections on the importance of air quality and the role each of us can play in protecting the environment.
During the workshop, our young air detectives had the opportunity to:
- observe simple air quality experiments;
- discover the sources of air pollution;
- learn which everyday actions can help protect the environment.
We would like to thank the Institute of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate in Genoa for hosting us and, above all, all our young air detectives for participating with such enthusiasm.
