Meteorological modelling, forecasting and atmospheriic simulations

PM_TEN provides advanced numerical meteorological modelling services, offering atmospheric dynamics simulations using state‑of‑the‑art modelling tools scalable to specific needs. Services cover spatial domains ranging from continental to local scale (down to a few hundred meters), for forecasting purposes, climatological analyses, and reconstruction of past events.

Operational provision of meteorological forecast fields

Operational production of meteorological fields includes variables such as pressure, wind, temperature, humidity, precipitation, solar radiation, and more, at different forecast ranges over selected areas.
Services cover continental and regional scales, supporting:
  • Weather forecasting and climatological analyses;
  • Reconstruction of past meteorological events.

High-resolution meteorological field simulation and generation of input for dispersion models

Production of forecast and/or climatological meteorological fields with high spatial detail through the processing of measured data or coupling with mesoscale models, both diagnostic (e.g., mass‑consistent models) and prognostic (e.g., Large‑Eddy Simulation).

The generated files serve as input for advanced atmospheric dispersion models such as CALPUFF, HYSPLIT, and CAMx, supporting:
  • Simulation of atmospheric pollutant dispersion;
  • Management of industrial emissions and environmental risk scenarios.

Climatological analyses and simulation of past events

Development of climatological reanalysis studies over multi‑decadal periods and reconstruction of past meteorological events, considering various atmospheric variables (wind, precipitation, temperature, solar radiation, etc.).
These services enable:
  • Advanced assessments of past atmospheric scenarios;
  • Support for environmental planning studies;
  • Production of data for hydrometeorological analyses.
